SOS Bushmen

Sandy Gall is very concerned about the plight of his friends and has published a book, The Bushmen Of South Africa - Slaughter Of The Innocent.

In his foreword to this book the Prince of Wales says: "The Bushman is the essence of Africa. The Bushmen, a so-called 'primitive people', had a wiser understanding at a deeper, mysterious level of how nature worked, and how to cope with it, than all the batteries of scientists and experts mobilised by 'modern' civilisations.

"This gentle civilisation, so in tune with its past, its inner spirituality, and its natural surrounding, may be on the verge of extinction.

"Will we not then curse the day we let slop the great store of Bushmen wisdom and abandoned such a people to their destruction? Turning a blind eye is no longer an option of the Bushman is to survive." The only organisation which is fighting for the human rights of the Bushmen is Survival International.

Unfortunately, it desperately needs money, and says it will have to severely curtail its campaigning for the Bushmen, if it does not receive more money soon. Survival has had significant successes in the past, and its campaign for the Bushmen could be successful, if they can continue it.

They are in fact surviving, but not as Bushmen, in resettlement camps.

There they live in a state of abject degradation and despair, because they are denied the freedom to obtain their food in their traditional way as hunter-gatherers. They have been tortured, and their one source of water in the desert has been destroyed in an act of utter barbarity and genocide.

Please help the Bushmen, if you possibly can, by not turning a blind eye to them.
