 El juicio presentado por los bosquimanos 'gana' y 'gwi' contra el
Gobierno de Botsuana para que se reconozcan su derecho a regresar a
sus tierras ancestrales en el Kalahari y a quedarse en ellas sin
temor a posteriores expulsiones se reiniciará el próximo 3 de
noviembre en Lobatse, la sede del Tribunal Supremo de Botsuana, según
informó hoy la organización de defensa de los derechos indígenas

Kalahari Bushmen take on mining titan over right to land Relocated to give way for mining, they want land - and a say Washington Correspondent A BHP BILLITON project in the Kalahari may have run into a small snag: specifically, a 10cm-high pair of antelope horns. Roy Sesana, head of the Bushmen advocacy group First People of the Kalahari, sported them as part of a traditional headdress to a recent meeting with the World Bank's International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Washington. His charge: an IFC-funded diamond mining partnership with BHP Billiton played a role in their forced relocation from their ancestral homelands. Now they want BHP Billiton's help to get them back.

Bushmen protest loss of ancestral land: Believe Botswana leaders tied too closely to De Beers

Representatives of Botswana's Bushmen population who have been resettled away from their ancestral land in the Kalahari desert brought their protest to Britain yesterday, as they demonstrated outside the showroom of the De Beers diamond giant.

The Bushmen claim the government of Botswana and De Beers are trying to steal their ancestral lands to exploit their mineral wealth.
